SAMPLE CONTRACT

RE: DJ Show at Your Special Event on
August 21, 2007
Dear Ms. Doe:
This letter shall serve as a contract
between you and me, Michael Mathena, regarding a DJ
engagement at your Wedding Reception held at St.
Francis Hall in Roseville, beginning at 4pm. I will
entertain at this reception with a variety of music
played from CD's without interruption until the event
ends naturally. There is no time limit. I will bring
state-of-the art equipment, the set up/tear down of
which I will be solely responsible for. I will also
accept full responsibility for any mal-
function of or damage to my equipment, given that no
damage has been willfully inflicted by anyone in
attendance.
You will pay me the total sum of
$575.00, of which $75.00 will be required as a
non-refundable deposit. The balance of $500.00 will be
due 14 calendar days prior to the event. Your copy of
this contract, along with your cancelled deposit check
and your timely payment of the balance will be your
guarantee for my appearance at your event. Please sign
both copies of this contract, then return to me one
copy, along with your deposit check (made out to
Michael Mathena) in the SASE enclosed
for your convenience. A signed contract with deposit
must be received within 30 days after it was issued or
30 days before the event (whichever comes first) or it
may be rejected. I encourage submission of any request
list(s) for me to consider. The same time restrictions
apply for request lists as for contracts/deposits.
Please remember that during one hour of music only a
total of about 15 songs can be played, and half of
those are "taken" by traditional party
songs.
I will arrive well ahead of your
guests to set up, be dressed in a tuxedo (unless
specifically requested otherwise), and I will do my
part to make your Wedding Reception a memorable event.
At the conclusion of the evening I will present the
Bride and Groom with the highlights of the music
played on a CD to keep as a "musical memory"
of your Reception. I look forward to working with you!
